The State Audit Office of the Kingdom of Thailand (SAI Thailand) actively participated in the 16th meeting of the INTOSAI Performance Audit Subcommittee (PAS), held on 1–2 April 2025 in Bucharest, Romania, hosted by the Romanian Court of Accounts.

This annual platform brought together representatives from 23 Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) worldwide to advance the development of professional standards on performance audit. Discussions focused on the implementation of the Strategic Development Plan (2023–2028), improvements in the due process for standard-setting, and progress on five major projects: Accessibility, Terminology, Principles, Integration & Clarity, and Guidance.

SAI Thailand contributed to the projects on Principles, Integration & Clarity, and Guidance, by providing technical insights and reflecting the perspectives of developing countries to ensure that INTOSAI standards remain relevant and practical across diverse contexts.

During the knowledge-sharing session, SAI Thailand presented innovations in applying technology to performance audits, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS), big data analytics, and UAVs, reinforcing the concept of a “Smart Audit Organization” that integrates spatial and systemic data into planning, implementation, and follow-up of audits.

These contributions highlight SAI Thailand’s commitment to strengthening transparency, accountability, and alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through innovative audit practices.
