BPK Chairperson's Courtesy Visit to SAO Thailand and MoU Signing Ceremony
Bangkok, Thailand – 18 September 2024
Dr. Isma Yatun, Chair of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK), paid a courtesy visit to General Chanathap Indamra, President of the State Audit Commission and Chairman of ASOSAI, at the State Audit Office of the Kingdom of Thailand (SAO) on 18 September 2024. This high-level visit, aimed at enhancing the long-standing partnership between BPK and SAO Thailand, set the stage for significant developments in the collaboration between the two institutions.
Following the courtesy visit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Dr. Isma Yatun and Mr. Monthien Charoenpol, Auditor General of SAO Thailand. The MoU focuses on strengthening cooperation and knowledge-sharing in public auditing, further enhancing ties between BPK and SAO Thailand. Professor Dr. Orapin Polsuwan Sabyeroop, Commissioner of the State Audit Commission, served as the honorable witness to this important occasion, signifying the significance of the cooperation between the two Supreme Audit Institutions.
Dr. Isma Yatun also had the honor of joining the 109th anniversary celebration of the State Audit Office of the Kingdom of Thailand during her visit. This milestone event offered an opportunity for both organizations to reflect on their shared values and discuss future collaboration in areas such as auditing practices and public financial oversight, contributing to the advancement of transparency and accountability in the region.
During the visit, Dr. Isma was accompanied by a delegation from BPK, including Mr. Edward GH Simanjuntak, Director General of Audit Department III, and Mr. Teguh Widodo, Director of Public Relations and International Cooperation. The delegation held high-level discussions with the leadership of SAO Thailand, including Mr. Monthien Charoenpol, Auditor General and Mrs. Klednatee Manosan, Deputy Auditor General.
The visit culminated in an official dinner hosted by SAO Thailand at Benjarong Bangkok Baan Dusit Thani, where the delegations from both institutions celebrated their shared goals and future collaboration. This visit, coupled with the MoU signing, marks an important step in the efforts to advance public audit standards and foster closer cooperation between BPK and SAO Thailand within the ASEAN region and beyond.
